Did you grow up in a family fond of natural or ‘more western’ ways of treating illnesses?

My dad was a serious Type I diabetic, so western medicine was the rule in our house. But my parents taught me a lot about the role of diet in health, because my father had to eat very carefully. That proved a tremendous influence on my life and career.
