We will be meeting with Rongoa Māori experts at the Auckland Botanical Gardens, in the Northland, in Lower Hutt, and in Tauranga. We are best reached by email but email access will be sporadic. Zoe Helene spent the years from age 9 to 19 on the top of a mountain on the North Island of Aotearoa. Her parents still live there. This will be Zoe's first visit home to the island for many years. This will be Chris' first time in New Zealand.

The name Vanuatu means 'Land Eternal'. Vanuatu South Pacific, with it's hundred-or-so islands, is one of the few mostly pristine places remaining on Earth. Over the course of ten years Chris spent time in Vanuatu working with medicinal plants and developing deep friendships with the native people there. Chris has not visited Vanuatu since 2005. Since then, Chris and Zoe were married, so this will be the first time Chris has brought Zoe to the islands. This will be both sweet and sad, as Chris' close friend Ariipaea 'Paea' Salmon passed away March 21 of this year. We will be working with Paea's son Heiariki Salmon, to re-established sustainable trade parterships for several of Chris' favorite medicinal plants.
