EVOLVER NYC AND JIVAMUKTI YOGA SCHOOL CELEBRATE THE 20TH ANNIVERSARY PUBLICATION OF THE FIVE TIBETANS

AUTHOR CHRIS KILHAM SHARES HIS REVOLUTIONARY BOOK DURING AN EVENING OF YOGA AND SHAMANISM FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 16, 2011

NEW YORK – NY Evolver NYC presents an evening with medicine hunter and author Chris Kilham in celebration of the 20-year anniversary (and updated release) of his best-selling yoga classic "The Five Tibetans: Five Dynamic Exercises for Health, Energy and Personal Power," published by Inner Traditions.

On Friday, September 16, 2011 from 8:30 pm -1:00 pm at Jivamukti Yoga School, yoga and shamanism take center stage as Kilham reveals deep insights and wisdom that he's culled by combining 41 years of daily yoga practice, 18 years of working with shamans in South America, and his regular daily practice of The Five Tibetans.

In this lively romp through spiritual dimensions, Kilham will show how yogic, shamanic, and other mystical techniques can help us overcome boundaries of the body, mind, and spirit, and open us up to true healing and ecstatic awareness. “In all my travels, The Five Tibetans have been my companions,” says Kilham. “I have practiced these methods in Vanuatu South Pacific, in Siberia, in Morocco, in the Peruvian, Brazilian and Ecuadorian Amazon, high up in the Indian Himalaya, in the Syrian desert, along Xinjiang’s Naladi grasslands, on the Mexican coast, and in countless cities from Kathmandu to Shanghai to Marrakech to Moscow to London to Accra. I have practiced them in hotels, on beaches, on stone patios, in native shacks, on boat docks, in forests, on mountains, in airports.”

Originating in the Himalayas, the five yogic exercises known as the Five Tibetans take approximately ten minutes daily to perform, yet dramatically increase physical strength, tone, energy, and suppleness as well as mental acuity. They are ideal for busy people who have little time and want real results. Regular practice of these methods relieves muscle tension and nervous stress, improves digestion, strengthens the cardiovascular system, tunes and energizes the chakras, and leads to deep relaxation and well-being. Since 1978 Kilham has taught these exercises to thousands of people seeking a healthier lifestyle.

In the latest edition of the classic yoga best-seller, Dr Mehmet Oz and Dr Deepak Chopra offer praise and recognition for this internationally-beloved guide.

Dr Oz says “Inspired and clear, The Five Tibetans makes a worthy contribution to body-mind wellness and longevity.”

Dr Chopra calls The Five Tibetans “A time-honored classic that belongs in every yoga library.”

Admission is $20 in advance and $25 the day of the event. To register, please call 212-353-0214 or visit www.jivamuktiyoga.com. For more information about Chris Kilham, visit www.medicinehunter.com.
