Neil G. Blomquist has been a Director of Spectrum Organic Products Inc. since January 2, 2003 and was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Numi Tea on September 1, 2002. Prior to that Mr. Blomquist served as SNI's President and Chief Operating Officer since January 1994, and served as its Director of Sales and Marketing from 1989 to 1994. Mr. Blomquist has served on the Board of Directors of the California Olive Oil Council since 1996 and has been involved in the organic and natural foods industry for more than 25 years. Mr. Blomquist holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and Economics from the University of South Dakota.

Neil Blomquist is the former President and CEO for Spectrum Organic Products, Inc., the leading producer of natural and organic culinary and nutraceutical oils, condiments, and essential fatty acid supplement oils in North America.The company was sold to the Hain-Celestial Group in December of 2005.Blomquist was appointed to this position and joined the Board of Directors in September of 2002 after serving Spectrum for 13 years in various executive capacities, including Director of Sales and Marketing from 1989 to 1994, President and Chief Operating Officer from 1994 to 1999, and President of Consumer Brands from 1999 to 2002.Blomquist oversaw the daily operation of the company and lead its double-digit annual growth in sales and profits.He also has served as the driving force behind strategic supply-side management and new product development, launching an average of six new products per year. Blomquist brings over 30 years' experience in retailing, distribution, brand marketing and organizational management within the organic and natural products industry.As an extension of that experience, he has established a consulting company, Sustainable Solutions, to specialize in the development and marketing of sustainable business solutions for the industry.Before Spectrum, Blomquist served as sales manager from 1985 to 1989 with Fairhill Foods, a natural products distributor in the San Francisco Bay Area.Blomquist also owned and operated a natural and specialty food retail store in Kalispell, Montana for 10 years. Blomquist spent 10 years on the board of directors of the California Olive Oil Council and was chairman of the Organic Standards Subcommittee for Oils section of the Organic Farm Act of 1990.Neil recently accepted board positions on the American Botanical Council, a non-profit educational association for the Herbal community; ForesTrade, an organic and Fair Trade certified importer of coffee and spices; and Living Harvest, a consumer brand company focused on hemp based culinary and supplement foods.He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in business management and economics from the University of South Dakota.Born in South Dakota, Blomquist currently resides in Sebastopol, Calif.
