LifeFlower: Brain Health From China

You probably have not yet heard much about LifeFlower, but you surely will. The Chinese herb Erigeron breviscapinus is emerging as a highly valuable aid in promoting memory and cognitive function. Like Ginkgo biloba, LifeFlower appears to enhance blood flow in the vessels of the brain. But unlike Ginkgo, LifeFlower is also a widely employed drug in Chinese hospitals for improving mental and physical function in stroke patients.

LifeFlower comes from the region of Yunnan, the southwestern-most province of China, near Tibet and Burma. The plant grows wild in the mountainous terrain of that area. In China, LifeFlower is used to treat high blood pressure, age-related senility and stroke, and to improve overall mental function.

LifeFlower is both a traditional remedy and a scientifically tested brain medicine. In one human clinical study conducted at twenty-one hospitals in China, 9,810 people with some degree of stroke-related paralysis received injections of LifeFlower, with 88% improvement overall in function in the group. The treatment was administered over the course of twenty days. Thus LifeFlower has demonstrated, in this study and in others as well, a capacity to help aid recovery in cases of stroke.

That’s certainly tremendous news, but what about the use of LifeFlower as an oral dietary supplement? Extracted from the flowers of the plant, LifeFlower in supplement form is most notably effective for improving memory and people’s sense of mental alertness. In human clinical studies for memory and cerebral function, individuals given oral LifeFlower have consistently shown improvement in memory scores. Individuals who use LifeFlower report improved mental clarity.

The way that LifeFlower works is at least somewhat well understood. Extract of the flower increases cerebral blood flow, raises permeability of the blood-brain barrier, and promotes greater activity of immune factors in cases of thrombosis. By enhancing circulation in the vessels of the brain, LifeFlower also helps to deliver more vital oxygen to brain cells as well.

No supplement can completely forestall the aging of the brain. But LifeFlower, with its significant brain-enhancing properties, may add years and better quality to your overall mental function.
